Seminar on Value-Based Medicine

We are excited to share that approximately 120 members joined the recent seminar on Value-Based Medicine, hosted by HKAPI’s catalyst member, Vista Health. The seminar focused on “Best Practices in Real-World Data: Perspectives from Outside of Hong Kong,” providing valuable insights into the application of real-world evidence (RWE) in healthcare decision-making.

The seminar kicked off with a review of the value-based pricing model to align all participants on the principles of value-based healthcare. This foundational knowledge set the stage for productive discussions.
Next, the session explored how RWE is utilized in other markets for market access, covering topics such as safety monitoring, comparative effectiveness, epidemiology, cost-effectiveness analysis (CEA) modeling, and policy implications. This provided attendees with a broader perspective on RWE’s practical applications.
The seminar concluded by highlighting the practical use of RWE, focusing on how to build stronger submission cases and influence policy. Participants learned the importance of leveraging data to improve healthcare outcomes.
Our distinguished speakers included Bruce Crawford, MA, MPH, General Manager for North Asia at Vista Health, who shared insights from nearly 30 years in health economics and epidemiology. Bruce has co-authored over 80 manuscripts and made more than 200 presentations.
Judy Li, Senior Consultant at Vista Health, also contributed significantly with her expertise in health policy and public health. With over 10 years of experience, she has managed healthcare projects in Department of Health and various NGOs, focusing on vaccination, health screening, and cancer prevention.
This seminar provided a valuable platform for members to engage with innovative practices in value-based medicine and RWE utilization. We thank all participants for their contributions and look forward to more collaborative efforts in advancing healthcare standards in Hong Kong. Stay tuned for more updates from HKAPI!
