We are excited to announce the official launch of the SCAN-2030 website on 4 Nov 2024. This milestone follows the ongoing efforts of the research team from the Department of Pharmacology and Pharmacy of HKU, with support from HKAPI member companies.
The website targets healthcare professionals, policymakers, researchers, the pharmaceutical industry, patient groups, and the public, aiming to cultivate an integrated environment for health systems and (HS/HTA) mechanisms.
The Horizon Scanning of medium-to-long-term Burden of Chronic Diseases and Care Needs to 2030 in Hong Kong (SCAN-2030) project aims to build a prototype for assessment that is tailor-made for the HK setting and encourage the authority to adopt it as a key reference in mapping out evidence-based and effective healthcare resource allocation.
In conjunction with the website launch, the HKU team also released a press release about the critical findings from their recent research paper, “Projecting the 10-year costs of care and mortality burden of depression until 2032: a Markov modelling study developed from real-world data”. The press release is available here.
