On 24th February, 2018, the Hong Kong Alliance of Patients’ Organization, the Hospital Authority and the HKAPI joined hands to organize the fifth Patient Empowerment forum. Over 150 patients, heathcare professionals and HKAPI members participated in the event.

The opening ceremony was officiated by Professor Sophia Chan, JP.,Secretary for Food and Health, Government of the HKSAR, Dr P Y LEUNG, Chief Executive of the Hospital Authority, Mr. SL Yuen, Chairman of the Hong Kong Alliance of Patients’ Organizations and Ms. Kara Cheung Vice-President of HKAPI.

The theme of the forum is “Home Care Master”. Pharmacists, representatives from Patient Groups, occupational therapists, physical therapists and medical representatives taught patients different disease management tips including through short talks and drama. Representatives from HKAPI’s member companies introduced and demonstrated a number of tools and information technology applications that help patients to maintain drug compliance.
