Good Registration Practices and Best Practice Workshop (Day 2)

Following the highly productive Day 1 workshop held on 24 Nov, the Regulatory Education Workshop Day 2 took place on 5 Dec at Sassoon Road Campus of the University of Hong Kong, with over hundred participants from the pharmaceutical industry and pharmacy students.

Ms Sarina Chan, Senior Executive Director of HKAPI, commenced the event by recapping key takeaways from Day 1 workshop. It served as a reminder of the crucial topics covered and set the stage for an engaging day of learning.

Mr Ken Poon shared the latest updates of the CORP application requirements.
Dr Sannie Chong shared an overview on ePI and implementation status in other countries.

Mr Ken Poon, Pharmacist at the Drug Office, Department of Health, delivered the first keynote speech titled “Review on CORP Application Guideline and Good Submission Practices”. His sharing provided participants with a comprehensive understanding of the application requirements and guidelines, the recent regulatory updates, as well as the tips for good submission practice for CORP applications.

We are also honored to have Dr Sannie Chong, Senior Director, AP Regulatory Policy, MSD, to present an overview on ePI and implementation status in other countries. She also shared the considerations, hurdles, and learnings during preparation and implementation. Her presentations added a global perspective to the workshop, enriching the discussion on regulatory practices.

Participants were actively engaged throughout the workshop, leading to an overwhelming response during the Q&A session that followed each keynote speech. Speakers expertly addressed each question, fostering a dynamic exchange of knowledge and ideas.

During the short break, participants had the opportunity to network and engage in one-on-one discussions with the speakers, allowing them to delve deeper into the presentation topics.

A case study session was conducted after the break. Similar to the day 1 workshop, this session aimed to explore submission strategies and considerations under different conditions. Representatives from each groups presented their suggestions, and Ken provided valuable feedback and advice.

Sabrina delivered the closing remarks, expressing her gratitude to speakers, participants, and the HKAPI Regulatory Workshop Group for making the education workshop a resounding success.
