World Rare Disease Day 2020 Online Symposium

Our task force leads Karen Yuen and Sui Wong joined the “World Rare Disease Day 2020 Online Symposium” organized by Rare Disease Hong Kong (RDHK), formerly known as “Hong Kong Alliance for Rare Diseases (HKARD)”.

Karen talked about the opportunities and challenges for clinical trials of Rare Disease Drugs in Hong Kong from the perspective of global pharmaceutical companies.

Sui expressed views on how a comprehensive rare disease policy could assist in rare disease-related research study and support patients in Hong Kong.

She also participated in the panel discussion with Sui, moderated by Mr KP Tsang, RDHK’s Chairman, and Prof Edwin Chan, School of Life Sciences, The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Karen and Sui expressed views on how a comprehensive rare disease policy could assist in rare disease-related research study and support patients in Hong Kong.

RDHK has organised a symposium every year to raise awareness among the general public and decision-makers about rare diseases and their impact on patients’ lives. 2020 marks the 5th anniversary for RDHK and the 5th such symposium.
